Jerry Remy's Sports Bar & Grill

It's no surprise that I, lover of Boston, the Red Sox, and flying pizza, also have a soft spot in my heart for Mr. Jerry Remy. I was super excited when I first heard that he was opening a restaurant in my 'hood, but part of me harbored some doubts. We've all seen some bad restaurants by celebrities; I was afraid that Jerry's would be too boring (Big Papi's Grille) or too weird (Derek Jeter's Taco Hole), but I was incredibly impressed by Jerry's. I would love this restaurant even if it didn't have his name all over it.

Atmosphere: It's pretty classy for a sportsbar. Lots of dark wood, insane amounts of natural light (floor to ceiling windows in front and back). The bar is beautiful, and not just because of the giant TV screens everywhere. This is a fabulous place to watch any game. And rumor has it they will be adding a roof deck later this summer!

Food: Big, big portions. It's got your typical bar food, with steaks, ribs, and seafood as well. For apps, try the nachos and the teriyaki wings. The wings were spicy and we begged the waitress to let us keep the empty plate so we could dip our fries in the extra sauce. I suggested that they rename them "teri-Yawkey" wings, so we'll see if they follow through on that. My only complaint about the food is that we had so much of it, we could barely find room to set down our drinks on the table!

Drinks: Fun signature cocktails, huge beer selection. I had a margarita, which was delicious, but cost $12. That's ok though, because next time I can save money by drinking Gansetts for $3.
